Dow Powerhouse Solar Shingle - The Roof, Reinvented
In January 2012, Dow Chemical Co. released its widely anticipated POWERHOUSE SOLAR SHINGLE to the U.S. residential roofing market. Colorado was the lucky state to first gain access to this revolutionary new technology - an electricity-producing roof shingle. Through Dow's Authorized Dealer network of hand picked roofing contractors, homeowners across the country will be reinventing their roofs.
Fast forward 2 months months later, Texas and Northern California came aboard. That's where I come in. I've always been interested in BIPV (Building Integrated Photovoltaics) . In 2008 I installed my first BIPV Solar Roof tile in Livermore, CA. Check out the BIPV glass at the Academy of Sciences in Golden Gate Park. Most patrons don't even realize what it is upon entering. BIPV solar roof tiles are great options for homeowners with concrete roofs, but there's never been a reliable or aesthetically pleasing solar roof product on the market for homeowners with asphalt shingle roofs. That is, until Dow introduced their POWERHOUSE SOLAR SHINGLE. My company and I had been following Dow's progress with its integrated solar shingle for a few years. Town and Country Roofing & Solar was a natural fit for Dow's roll out of the solar shingle and I was thrilled to be selected as the first California roofing company to become a member of Dow's Authorized Dealer network. Our company couldn't wait to unleash this product on Northern California homeowners, and in April of 2012 we hit the ground running!
Since then, the POWERHOUSE SOLAR SHINGLE has exploded in popularity throughout all of California with more and more homeowners choosing to reinvent their roof. It's been an awesome ride thus far as I've helped more clients in California invest in a DOW POWERHOUSE SOLAR roof than anyone. Clearly it's become a passion of mine. Want to transform your home's roof into one that not only sheds water, but produces clean electricity? Invest in Dow Powerhouse.
