Solar and Roofing Testimonials

We began looking at solar after our New Year's resolution to reduce our carbon foot print and worked with Mike Kleeman. We had his help on a project done with our roof through Town & Country Roofing...he was great. So we had him present different options...I would strongly encourage anyone thinking about a solar product to have Mike give you the options. His information is clear and everything can be done via email/web if you prefer no paper! He really helped to educate us on how the photovoltaic technology worked and what we could expect from the whole process of installing solar panels for our home. Additionally, I appreciated someone that actually got on the roof himself! Very hands on. Once it was finally time to install the panels, Ben's crew came out and got the whole thing done in only one day! They did an excellent job of making sure that the installation was not only functional but attractive looking (which my girlfriend was mostly concerned about). They completely cleaned up after themselves when they were done even though I am sure they were anxious to leave since it was blazing hot out that day and they had to work late into the afternoon to get it all finished. We had a problem with our meter in the middle of the project and getting PG&E to interconnect our system that West Coast Solar had no responsibility for--but they stepped up and helped out--I can't say enough good things about that team. Make sure you work with Mike to get some purchase vs. lease options and overall friendly service...They were on time and professional! Thanks West Coast Solar!

I couldn't believe it. From the time Mike gave me the estimate for the new roof and insulation,it was a whirlwind of activity. The job was completed in three days. Raul Munoz, the project supervisor, is worth his weight in gold. During the final walk through,he made sure that I was totally satisfied with every aspect of the job. A very pleasant experience!

We had quite a sizeable job to do on our roof, and we were prepared to make a choice of companies. We visited their presentation at the Alameda Home and Garden show where we set up an appointment to get a bid for the work. Michael, the sales person, gave us a wonderful presentation to consider. Once we made the decision to go with T&C, it was just a matter of days before our project began. From the time the work began, to the final day of the project, every member of the team was extremely professional and hard working. Their quality of work and attention to all the little details was greatly appreciated.
We would like to give a special thanks to Michael and Raul, the site forman, for job well done.
Everyone from the sales person, to the site forman, to the workers themselves, was awesome. Again, Thanks........

Town and Country removed our old lightweight cement shake roof. They then replaced the roof with new paper and new Asphalt Shingles by Owens Corning. All the old materials were removed from the job site and the crew made sure to clean up each day to ensure that all nails, etc. were picked up. They replaced the pertinent metal flashings, roof vents and added a new ridge vent to better vent the attic and to meet local building codes. The entire roof job was approved by our local building inspectors. They completed the job according to their proposed schedule.

We were very happy with the job. It was done in a timely fashion and met all our expectations. Both Mike, who quoted the job, and Raul, who supervised the job were always available to answer questions and they made sure the job got done in a totally professional way. They were easy to work with as was all the crew. We highly recommend Town and Country roofing to anyone needing a new roof on their house.

Our house is HOT! With the tall windows and no shade to the south and west our home instantly gets hot each morning. And it seems that a lot of the head radiates down from the ceiling. We contacted the outfit that installed our roof, Town & Country and they sent out Mike. He made the recommendation that we buy an attic fan. We ended up purchasing the fan from them – they warranty their work on the roof. It was installed Monday, July 20th. It was a quick install both on the roof and inside the attic. The electrical wiring was run and the fan is now set at 100 degrees. The fan is quiet and being on the rear of the roof is not noticeable. Already the house is cooler- the air conditioner only runs about half the time it did before! I suspect our attic is now just over 100 degrees instead of the 150+ it was. Even the ‘cold’ water is much less hot than before. The hot attic air is now being blown out. Contact Michael Kleeman but be prepared to spend dearly for the fan and installation. Look at over $1,100 for one fan. Anita and I think it was well worth it. We will eagerly await our next PG&E bill to see what economy was achieved.

I recently employed West Coast Solar to do a package rehabilitation/solar project on my home that included roofing, gutters, paint, insulation, and solar installation on my 55 year old home and I am writing this letter of testimonial to applaud their efforts on my behalf.
I routinely deal with modernization because I work with many school districts in the Northern California area. Modernization and reconstruction are more prone to cost overruns, delays, and other unforeseen conditions than new construction. West Coast Solar brought my project to conclusion on time and at budget with a minimum of disruption to my life. I cannot say enough good things about the Manager of the project, Michael Kleeman. He is a true gentleman and was there at every juncture of the project when he was needed. He coordinated the efforts of the various contractors so well that I was sometimes unaware of their presence.
All systems are up and running. My home is more comfortable, the solar component is producing energy even during cloudy Winter days. In short, I couldn’t be more pleased. I believe that such outstanding performance should be recognized. I would be happy to chat with anyone who is contemplating having West Coast Solar or Michael Kleeman do work for them.
